Compounding Workflow
Activate RXCOMP Compounding Pharmacy Prescription at $0 for the location to utilize it for the compounding workflow.
This is a permissions-based feature or is managed in your organization’s Admin settings.
Three goals exist for the Compounding Workflow:
Accurate Medical Records
This code creates a prescription label to clearly define the combination of ingredients and the instructions to the owner.
The code will display in the patient's chart and Medications tab so that the RX Sheet or RX Label may be printed.

Inventory Tracking
In this example, since the patient is going home with a whole bottle of TrizEDTA, dispense this directly to the patient.
For the other drugs in this compound, dispense a bottle of each to floor stock only for dermatology compounds.
Inventory may then be tracked without invoicing for each drug directly to the client.
Correct Pricing
The service code RXCOMP Compounding Pharmacy Prescription is priced to cover the average cost of the used floor stock items. Similar in logic to an IV catheter placement, accounting for tape, t-set, and labor
When pricing this code, consider the expected average labor to make the compound, the average cost of inventory used, and the base value to the client of providing this service.
This process allows for capturing the cost for each item and generates revenue by the service code RXCOMP Compounding Pharmacy Prescription.
